At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2012, Ireland's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 10.5% compared to 2011, reaching 18.9%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 21.0%.

Ireland ranks 16th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 1.6% (from 19.2% in 2007).
