Distribution of population by tenure status, type of household and income group

In 2021, Ireland's distribution of population by tenure status, type of household and income group increased by 0.3% compared to 2020, reaching 69.8%.

The figure is in line with the EU-27 average of 69.8%.

Ireland ranks 22nd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 0.4% (from 69.5% in 2016).
