Share of energy from renewable sources

In 2013, Ireland's share of energy from renewable sources increased by 21.1% compared to 2012, reaching 4.9%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 6.1%.

Ireland ranks 16th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 275.3% (from 1.3% in 2008).
