In 2023, Ireland's police-recorded offences by offence category increased by 0.9% compared to 2022, reaching 9,260.

Ireland ranks 14th out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 44.3% (from 16,621 in 2018).
