Unemployment by sex and age - annual data

In 2017, Ireland's unemployment by sex and age decreased by 20.2% compared to 2016, reaching 6.7%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 8.3%.

Ireland ranks 15th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 56.8% (from 15.5% in 2012).
