Employment rates by citizenship

In 2021, Italy's employment rates by citizenship increased by 0.8% compared to 2020, reaching 49.4%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 63.4%.

Italy ranks 26th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 2.7% (from 48.1% in 2016).
