Population change - Demographic balance and crude rates at national level

In 2022, Latvia's population change decreased by 7.6% compared to 2021, reaching 8.5.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 8.7.

Latvia ranks 18th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 20.6% (from 10.7 in 2017).
