Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2011, Latvia's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data decreased by 4.1% compared to 2010, reaching 46.6%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 81.7%.

Latvia ranks 19th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 339.6% (from 10.6% in 2006).
