Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2013, Latvia's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data decreased by 5.0% compared to 2012, reaching 41.8%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 86.8%.

Latvia ranks 21st out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 114.4% (from 19.5% in 2008).
