Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2024, Latvia's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data increased by 4.1% compared to 2023, reaching 46.2%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 80.7%.

Latvia ranks 17th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 21.9% (from 37.9% in 2019).
