Population on 1 January by age group and sex

In 1978, Latvia's population on 1 january by age group and sex increased by 0.5% compared to 1977, reaching 54,855.

Latvia ranks 19th out of 22 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 5.4% (from 52,061 in 1973).
