Population on 1 January by age and sex

In 1976, Latvia's population on 1 january by age and sex increased by 0.7% compared to 1975, reaching 1,133,086.

Latvia ranks 19th out of 23 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 4.8% (from 1,081,058 in 1971).
