In 2006, Lithuania's passenger cars, by type of motor energy and size of engine increased by 9.4% compared to 2005, reaching 1,592,238.

Lithuania ranks 18th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 40.5% (from 1,133,477 in 2001).
