In 2008, Lithuania's passenger cars, by type of motor energy and size of engine increased by 5.2% compared to 2007, reaching 1,671,065.

Lithuania ranks 17th out of 25 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 33.0% (from 1,256,853 in 2003).
