Population on 1 January by age and sex

In 1978, Lithuania's population on 1 january by age and sex increased by 0.8% compared to 1977, reaching 1,587,965.

Lithuania ranks 18th out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 4.5% (from 1,518,957 in 1973).
