Total researchers by sector of performance - full time equivalent

In 2021, Lithuania's total researchers by sector of performance increased by 8.4% compared to 2020, reaching 11,037.

Lithuania accounts for 0.6% of the EU-27 total of 1,991,034.

Lithuania ranks 21st out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 29.5% (from 8,525 in 2016).
