At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2013, Malta's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 4.6% compared to 2012, reaching 15.8%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 16.8%.

Malta ranks 15th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 3.3% (from 15.3% in 2008).
