In 2013, Malta's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 1.0% compared to 2012, reaching 7,077.

Malta ranks 26th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 6.5% (from 6,646 in 2008).
