In 2023, Malta's police-recorded offences by offence category increased by 3.7% compared to 2022, reaching 3,716.

Malta ranks 26th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 27.3% (from 5,109 in 2018).
