Population change - Demographic balance and crude rates at national level

In 2014, Malta's population change increased by 2.1% compared to 2013, reaching 9.7.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 9.9.

Malta ranks 18th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 1.0% (from 9.8 in 2009).
