Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2010, Malta's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data decreased by 1.5% compared to 2009, reaching 65.0%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 80.4%.

Malta ranks 10th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 7.4% (from 70.2% in 2005).
