Population on 1 January by age and sex

In 1989, Malta's population on 1 january by age and sex increased by 0.9% compared to 1988, reaching 176,872.

Malta ranks 25th out of 25 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 4.5% (from 169,276 in 1984).
