Main national accounts tax aggregates

In 2021, Malta's main national accounts tax aggregates decreased by 5.2% compared to 2020, reaching 5.5%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 14.1%.

Malta ranks 24th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 6.8% (from 5.9% in 2016).
