Main national accounts tax aggregates

In 2021, Malta's main national accounts tax aggregates decreased by 1.4% compared to 2020, reaching 27.9%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 41.0%.

Malta ranks 25th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 13.1% (from 32.1% in 2016).
