In 2024, Malta's at-risk-of-poverty rate of older people by sex decreased by 1.7% compared to 2023, reaching 28.5.

Malta accounts for 171.7% of the EU-27 total of 16.6.

Malta ranks 6th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 2.9% (from 27.7 in 2019).
