Population change - Demographic balance and crude rates at national level

In 2010, Portugal's population change increased by 2.1% compared to 2009, reaching 9.6.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 10.4.

Portugal ranks 21st out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 7.7% (from 10.4 in 2005).
