Employment rates by citizenship

In 2021, Portugal's employment rates by citizenship increased by 1.2% compared to 2020, reaching 67.2%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 63.4%.

Portugal ranks 12th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 7.5% (from 62.5% in 2016).
