Population on 1 January by age group and sex

In 1978, Portugal's population on 1 january by age group and sex increased by 1.9% compared to 1977, reaching 138,900.

Portugal ranks 12th out of 22 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 13.3% (from 122,620 in 1973).
