In 2021, Portugal's at-risk-of-poverty rate of households without dependent children by work intensity increased by 5.9% compared to 2020, reaching 55.3.

Portugal accounts for 102.2% of the EU-27 total of 54.1.

Portugal ranks 16th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 9.7% (from 50.4 in 2016).
