In 2023, Portugal's at-risk-of-poverty rate of households without dependent children by work intensity increased by 6.7% compared to 2022, reaching 53.8.

Portugal accounts for 97.6% of the EU-27 total of 55.1.

Portugal ranks 20th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 9.3% (from 59.3 in 2018).
