Share of women researchers in all sectors

In 2021, Portugal's share of women researchers in all sectors decreased by 0.2% compared to 2020, reaching 41.9%.

Portugal ranks 6th out of 21 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 2.5% (from 42.9% in 2016).
