At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex

In 2021, Romania's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 1.8% compared to 2020, reaching 21.7%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 16.1%.

Romania ranks 1st out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 12.5% (from 24.8% in 2016).
