In 2023, Romania's police-recorded offences by offence category increased by 8.9% compared to 2022, reaching 2,349.

Romania ranks 12th out of 23 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 78.0% (from 1,320 in 2018).
