In 2022, Romania's police-recorded offences by offence category increased by 43.6% compared to 2021, reaching 2,157.

Romania ranks 12th out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 100.8% (from 1,074 in 2017).
