In 2023, Romania's police-recorded offences by offence category increased by 8.0% compared to 2022, reaching 27,486.

Romania ranks 11th out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 9.8% (from 30,459 in 2018).
