In 2022, Romania's police-recorded offences by offence category decreased by 2.2% compared to 2021, reaching 25,449.

Romania ranks 11th out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 6.4% (from 27,177 in 2017).
