Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2000, Slovakia's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data increased by 7.4% compared to 1999, reaching 50.6%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 66.6%.

Slovakia ranks 15th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 137.6% (from 21.3% in 1995).
