Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2013, Slovakia's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data increased by 5.6% compared to 2012, reaching 54.6%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 86.8%.

Slovakia ranks 18th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 90.9% (from 28.6% in 2008).
