Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2018, Slovakia's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data decreased by 4.1% compared to 2017, reaching 49.3%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 79.5%.

Slovakia ranks 16th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 9.7% (from 54.6% in 2013).
