Life expectancy by age and sex

In 2024, Slovakia's life expectancy by age and sex increased by 0.4% compared to 2023, reaching 75.2.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 78.9.

Slovakia ranks 20th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 1.2% (from 74.3 in 2019).
