In 2003, Slovakia's passenger cars, by type of motor energy and size of engine increased by 2.2% compared to 2002, reaching 1,356,200.

Slovakia ranks 17th out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 13.4% (from 1,196,109 in 1998).
