In 2002, Slovakia's passenger cars, by type of motor energy and size of engine increased by 2.6% compared to 2001, reaching 1,326,900.

Slovakia ranks 19th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 16.8% (from 1,135,914 in 1997).
