Population on 1 January by age and sex

In 1978, Slovakia's population on 1 january by age and sex increased by 1.1% compared to 1977, reaching 2,470,259.

Slovakia ranks 15th out of 24 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 5.5% (from 2,341,097 in 1973).
