Population on 1 January by age and sex

In 1989, Slovakia's population on 1 january by age and sex increased by 0.6% compared to 1988, reaching 2,687,402.

Slovakia ranks 14th out of 25 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 3.3% (from 2,601,818 in 1984).
