In 2021, Slovakia's persons participating in tourism for personal purposes by age group increased by 2.4% compared to 2020, reaching 241,618.

Slovakia ranks 18th out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 50.6% (from 489,166 in 2016).
