Life expectancy by age and sex

In 2024, Slovenia's life expectancy by age and sex increased by 0.5% compared to 2023, reaching 79.5.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 78.9.

Slovenia ranks 15th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 1.0% (from 78.7 in 2019).
