Population change - Demographic balance and crude rates at national level

In 1979, Sweden's population change increased by 2.7% compared to 1978, reaching 11.6.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 14.2.

Sweden ranks 22nd out of 26 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 14.1% (from 13.5 in 1974).
