Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2011, Sweden's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data decreased by 2.3% compared to 2010, reaching 37.8%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 81.7%.

Sweden ranks 22nd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 13.9% (from 43.9% in 2006).
