Government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data

In 2014, Sweden's government deficit/surplus, debt and associated data increased by 11.9% compared to 2013, reaching 46.1%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 86.9%.

Sweden ranks 20th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 11.6% (from 41.3% in 2009).
