In 2016, Austria's police-recorded offences by offence category increased by 2.3% compared to 2015, reaching 143,531.

Austria ranks 9th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has fallen by 0.6% (from 144,326 in 2011).
